47 701: 27 049. Between January 1973 and August 1983, this locomotive carried the number 27 105 and from 1971 to 79 worked the intensive Edinburgh-Glasgow push pull services. The locomotive was withdrawn in May 1987 and scrapped in March 1988.

47 701: 40 162, 20 080 and trial DEMU 210 sit in the sidings on the east side of the depot. A Haymarket engine it's whole working life, 40 162 had failed in December 1982. It would never run again and was finally cut up in May 1986.
