LindaBCool: The nest! Taken from inside the office window
LindaBCool: Closer shot of the nest....
LindaBCool: The hummingbird - the first close shot of it! Her head is on the other side of the branch on the right
LindaBCool: You can see her pin feathers!! Such a pretty blue-green color.
LindaBCool: See the feathers ruffling in the breeze? It was a really windy day.
LindaBCool: March 7th - First shot from outside!! She's sitting on the nest. I used a 18-105mm lens on a Nikon D90.
LindaBCool: The nest is in the center of this pic, but she disappeared!
LindaBCool: OMGosh!!! She left and I can see one egg! It looks like there MIGHT be another one.
LindaBCool: I kept looking for her and then I spotted something bright orange. That's when I realized she was back in the nest and facing me with her beak!
LindaBCool: She's so pretty... greenish blue body, pink on the top of her head, and orange chest. It sounds like she could be an Anna's or Calliope hummingbird, but most of the color is found on the males of the species.... Hmmm...
LindaBCool: I moved position and got a view from below
LindaBCool: _DSC6649
LindaBCool: She's checking me out!
LindaBCool: _DSC6652
LindaBCool: She's gone!
LindaBCool: Still gone!
LindaBCool: Wow... all of a sudden, she's back, and watching me closely. This is when she was making a lot of noise.
LindaBCool: Wow.... Watching me VERY closely...

LindaBCool: Her colors change in the light.... OR... I wonder if there are really 2 hummingbirds on this nest?
