Urban sketching in Douai
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
Our stairs, at home, just "drawn with the brush" without pencil guidelines, playing with variegated washes. 😙 Can you feel the depth or no??
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
My basil and a few drops and splashes of paint. 😙
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
Still drying. 😊
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
My "with a handle" sketch is still drying. I played with the media, using a homemade reed pen and brushes, splattering some paint and spraying water on top of it. ☺ The pot comes from my grand parents house. ❤️
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
To sketch this "air mail" envelope, I cut a cork to make a stamp. And then, I stamped the colorful pattern. The only round stamp I own is this Vietnamese bird so I decided to use it as a post stamp, even if it was a bit big. 😉 That was fun !!
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
With bristles? My brushes of course!! 😀 I drew them popping out my bellowed slouchy creative bag. I like the simplicity and predictability of ink, these days. ☺ With a bit of calligraphy and my date stamp.
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
Something hot, but I am not really happy with this one... The kettle is so wonky!... It's not always easy to draw straight with ink... Someone wants a big cup of tea?! 😉
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
Ink sketch of my tiny upcycled adorable glass flask with homemade toasted and grinded sesame seeds in it. For my ink sketches, I always use my bellowed Hero fountain pen with a fude (bent) nib. ☺
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
That's very handy to have fancy curtains at home!! 😁 Colored pencils sketch on a Daler Rowney thin sketchbook (done with Caran d'Ache pencils).
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
A nearby tree I can see from home, with a colza field backside. Painted with gouache (made with white opaque watercolors, by the way, and transparent watercolor 😁 I have to buy real gouache 😉).
Anne-Laure Watercolor:
One of my favorite food these days : Cashew nuts, painted with gouache. ☺
