Fork-tailed Swift (Apus pacificus). There were large numbers of these birds in the sky above Cervantes this morning. They were very difficult to photograph. I don’t have a photo of one so even though this isn’t the clearest image I am still pretty happy.

Welcome Swallow (Hirundo neoxena) at Lake Goollelal in Perth’s northern suburbs. Catching a swallow on the wing is a goal of many photographers. This is as close as I have got so far.

White-backed Swallow (Cheramoeca leucosterna). Swallows are very hard to capture on the wing. In Australia these are a less common variety, so pretty pleased to get this reasonable shot of one near Cervantes Western Australia.

White-backed Swallow (Cheramoeca leucosterna). A pair were collecting nesting material from a graded roadside verge, providing an opportunity to take some photos where they are not normally seen.
