We did a walking tour of town today, and we saw a number of churches along the way. This was the first one we went in--St. Katharinen?--and it had the most beautiful stained glass windows.
shrff14:
Some of the buildings around town are kind of done in this style. (It only drizzled on us for a couple minutes.)
shrff14:
Osnabrück town hall. The peace treaty of Westphalia was signed here, in addition to Münster. Sounds like we'll be coming back here in a few days for a mayoral reception.

Guided city tour--view of belltower from the ground. The stair climb was a claustrophobic experience.

went to the farmers' market on Saturday. There was an amazing array of options. I'm still eating delicious blueberries, cheese, and ciabatta, and I'm going back on Thursday for more.
shrff14:
Farmers' market lunch, which I purchased more or less in French (it turns out that many people in Osnabruck do not, in fact, speak English; I'm getting by relatively well by pointing, but this vendor happened to speak French). Lunch: tomato tapenade, toma

German countryside bike trip--this was the view from the table where we stopped for lunch and beers like the other cyclists (though they were only having beers and cake).
