1 - The canoeist approaches the weir, nose forwards

2 - manoeuvering to draw alongside the weir

4 - the canoeist gets out onto the top of the weir wall

5 - he reaches over and gets hold of the canoe

6 - he carefully turns round, holding the canoe

7 - the way to put the canoe back into the water is stern first, I presume

8 - don't let go of the canoe!

9 - nearly ready to get back in the canoe - "D'you want a hand, mate?"

10 - got the paddle out, just about to get in... "Thanks mate, I'm fine!"

11 - this is an awkward point - the back of the canoe is under the weir flow, and hopefully it won't fill with water as he gets in.....

12 - Phew! Successfully sitting in the (rather damp) canoe - but facing the wrong way!

13 - Well, he got the canoe over the weir, but its facing the wrong way.....

14 - Well, first of all one paddles backwards into the middle of the river....

15 - a mid-river three point turn!

16 - the three point turn, nearly complete

17 - turning around to head downstream

18 .....and he paddles away downstream, towards Bristol!
