tashistation: fill pans evenly with batter
tashistation: cool for 15 minutes in pan
tashistation: remove from pans, let cool on wire racks
tashistation: once totally cool, flip over and trip uneven tops off, make sure each layer is level
tashistation: Gather your frosting tools
tashistation: fill small bag with frosting
tashistation: pipe a border on top of your bottom layer
tashistation: plop some frosting inside your circle
tashistation: smooth out, check to see if it's all level, if not, add more frosting or take away as needed
tashistation: invert 2nd layer and place on top of bottom layer
tashistation: plop more frosting on top
tashistation: do a thin, smooth coat all over. put cake in fridge. take out after 30 minutes and do another, thicker layer of frosting
tashistation: smooth sides with large offset spatula or bench scraper.
tashistation: add some simple swirls to top if desired
tashistation: decorate!
