SewLibra: All that's left of hubby's expensive black sweater! I cut out the sides, sleeves and collar from this.
SewLibra: To preserve the RTW sleeve seams, I did not take the sleeves apart. Make sure you cut a left and a right sleeve...ask me how I know! Yes, I messed up but I saved it.
SewLibra: So many pieces to this pattern: 2 fabrics, lining, and interfacing. Fronts, side fronts, side backs, back, facings and pockets with pocket linings.
SewLibra: Pattern instructions were horrible. They didn't even have you turn back the front hem facing and make it neat on the edges. I did it, though.
SewLibra: THIS is why I love having a dress form! Pinning on the lining is a piece of cake.
SewLibra: I used a strip of Steam-A-Seam to hold the pockets in place before lining and hemming.
SewLibra: Burda 7149 Zip Jacket Side.
SewLibra: Love the ease pleat in the lining! Looks nice and is practical.
SewLibra: I was able to machine sew the lining around the entire facing, however since the sweater parts didn't need lining, I had to pin the other side of it to the seam allowance.
SewLibra: Love, love, love the zippered pockets! I wish the zippers showed up more when closed.

SewLibra: My little tip to make my own garment labels. Feed ribbon with Stitch Witchery underneath and use your embroidery stitches. Just cut and press with a steam iron.
SewLibra: Ta-daaaaa!
